Every year, in honor of Bill McVay, the Lake Monroe Sailing Association host the challenging TRANS-MONROE REGATTA. On Saturday, March 6th all sailors are invited to challenge the approximate 11NM course around Lake Monroe. On Sunday March 7th LMSA will host the Windward/Leeward buoy race.
For those of you who do not know, Bill McVay was the Victoria 18 builder and built the first hull in Sanford on Lake Monroe. He was the owner or Strictly Sail in Sanford. This regatta is in honor of Bill and the winner of the Trans - Monroe will receive the Bill McVay Perpetual Trophy.
